Hey there! I am Hoffman-Boston’s School Counselor, Steven Rockey! This is my fourth year as counselor at Hoffman-Boston and I am excited to continue to be a part of the HFB family. I’m also excited to keep getting to know all of our students and families as well as be a resource when it comes to mental health and overall well-being.
I am in my 7th year as a school counselor (all in elementary), grew up in the state of Indiana (go Colts!), and prior to moving to Arlington counseled in the state of North Carolina. I graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in Sociology from Taylor University (Ind.) and received an M.A. in Counseling from Wake Forest University in 2014.
As a whole, Hoffman-Boston’s School Counseling Program is comprehensive in nature and is designed to focus on the academic, career, and personal/social development of all students. With this, my main goal as counselor is to help each and every student get to where they want to go. I work tirelessly with students, staff, teachers, and families to help our children succeed academically, socioemotionally, and beyond.
As counselor, I will advocate for and seek to maximize our students’ potential. I will also collaborate with other educators, parents/guardians, and the community to ensure that all of our students are prepared with the skills needed to contribute at their highest level.
If I can be of any service to you and your family, please feel free to reach me by email or phone. I look forward to having another wonderful year here at Hoffman-Boston.
Steven Rockey, M.A.
