Join the APS Office of Equity & Excellence for the Alliance for Black Children Meeting (Formerly the Black Parent Alliance) at Gunston Middle School on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. – Noon. To better align with the APS mission to advance academic achievement for targeted students, the Office of Equity and Excellence has changed the name of these quarterly meetings to the Alliance for Black Children (APS-ABC). Childcare will be available during the meeting for children ages 3 to 10. At this meeting, a variety of workshops and resources will be available to meet the needs of families with students in all grade levels.
The Alliance for Black Children Meeting is a quarterly meeting for APS parents to discuss relevant topics concerning families, learn about resources and supports APS provides to bolster student success, receive pertinent information to make informed decisions that affect their children, and increase parent engagement in their child’s education to improve educational outcomes while reducing opportunity gaps.
The snow date for this event is Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020
