Mrs. LaMantia

Hello!  My name is Tammy LaMantia.  This is my ninth year as a reading specialist at Hoffman-Boston and my 20th year of teaching! I am from central New York and graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a BA in Elementary Education.  I moved to the DMV almost 30 years ago and received a M.Ed in Curriculum Instruction in Reading from The University of Virginia.  I support students and teachers in 2nd and 3rd grade in the acquisition of literacy skills and strategies required to become fluent, avid readers and writers.

In my free time I enjoy strength training, running, biking and READING!  Recently my husband and I became “empty nesters” as our twin daughters started their college experiences at UVA and William & Mary.  I am looking forward to another year of Reading at Hoffman Boston.
