HFB Celebrating Bullying Prevention Month

Bullying Prevention Month

October is national bullying prevention month. We have the following events planned:

• Oct. 16: Unity Day – wear orange for bullying prevention
• Classroom visits and special lessons throughout the month from our counselors (Ms. V. Campbell and Ms. Lerner)
• 5th grade classes will learn more about the APS Code of Conduct from Mr. Ivan Lopez from the Office of Climate Culture.
• Assemblies for K-2 and 3-5 students with a special guest later this month

If your child reports bullying to you, you can complete a bullying harassment form or reach out to school staff. Counselors and administrators will collaborate to investigate bullying complaints. This month is a great time to remind all students about our five C.A.R.E.S. values: cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self-control. When we practice these values, we build a positive community.
