The second grade team has planned an exciting year for your child. It will be a year filled with exploration, learning, challenge, and change! In the process, they will continue to grow and understand themselves, others, and the world around them. This year we are focusing on integrating literacy into all curriculum areas as we strive to encourage all our students to become lifelong readers and learners.

Hello, my name is Mrs. Yarborough and I will be your Second Grade teacher. I have taught grades second thru fifth in my many years of teaching. I look forward to another year at Hoffman-Boston. Our year may begin with some challenges; however, we will learn together and experience many different adventures with the coming school year. Let’s remember to take each day one moment at a time and have fun exploring, learning, and making history!

Hello, my name is Ms. Ramirez, I studied early childhood education at George Mason University. This is my first year at Hoffman Boston, before coming here I taught PreK and Kindergarten at a private school. This year I am excited to be teaching second grade and look forward to working together with families to help each child reach their full potential
