To promote excellence in communication by:
 Raising the level of enthusiasm and engagement in the learning process
 Supporting the SOL’s
 Improving speaking, writing and presentation skills
 Raising literacy skills of the student body as a whole and reduce the minority achievement gap
 Helping children become proficient using technology to secure knowledge and communication with
      others
 Providing opportunities for families and community members to develop literacy and technology
      skills and the English Language
Hoffman-Boston has a unique population of students.  We are fortunate to serve a diverse population of students.  Most of our students speak English as their second language.  About 70% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Project Edison helps Hoffman-Boston to reach our goal of preparing our children to succeed in the real world, where skillful communication and technological competence are fundamental requirements
