The second grade team has planned an exciting year for your child. It will be a year filled with exploration, learning, challenge, and change! In the process, they will continue to grow and understand themselves, others, and the world around them. This year we are focusing on integrating literacy into all curriculum areas as we strive to encourage all our students to become lifelong readers and learners.

Hello, My name is Mrs. Yarborough and I am so excited to be your child’s second-grade teacher this year! Over my years at HFB, I’ve had the joy of teaching grades 2 through 5, and I am looking forward to another wonderful year of learning together. In second grade, we will explore new ideas, go on exciting adventures, and make lasting memories. Each day is an opportunity to grow, discover, and celebrate all the wonderful things your child will accomplish. I can’t wait to get started!

Hello, my name is Ms. Bodner! I am originally from Connecticut and moved to Arlington in 2023. I have a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a master's in Curriculum & Instruction. This is my third year teaching second grade at Hoffman-Boston. I look forward to a wonderful year together!

Hello, my name is Ms. Ramirez, I studied early childhood education at George Mason University. This is my first year at Hoffman Boston, before coming here I taught PreK and Kindergarten at a private school. Hello, my name is Marilyn Hanger. This is my 7th year teaching English Learners at Hoffman Boston. I previously taught 2nd and 3rd grade homeroom at Claremont Elementary School. I like to travel and try new recipes in my free time. I am looking forward to working with the second grade team to teach English learners again this year.
