There are some great events coming up in October!
The US Botanic Garden in DC just opened up an interesting exhibit called Fierce Fauna which focuses on “some of the unique survival features plants have evolved to defend themselves against herbivores, infection, and plant competitors!” Carnivorous plants, cacti, and more. The 7th annual Nova Maker Faire will be at Alexandria High School on October 20. This is a great event for imaginative and creative children. Buy tickets before October 15 for a discount. The Big Build will be back at the National Building Museum in DC on October 19. Lots of interactive opportunities involving tools, construction equipment and everything related to building. “Children and adults will learn side-by-side with roofers, plumbers, designers, artisans, and more at this FREE, hands-on festival celebrating the world we design and build”Free but you need to register for tickets I believe. On October 26, Air and Scare will return to the Air and Space Museum at the Udvar Hazy Center in Chantilly. This special Halloween event features lots of interactive science activities. Parking is $15. Indoor activities do not require a ticket. Tickets for outdoor activities are free and will be available on October 1 at 7 PM.
